Article 68 adjusts the type-approval framework for two- and three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles, Regulation (EU) No 168/2013, adding an entry for protection of the vehicle against cyberattacks to the table in Part C1 of Annex II to that Regulation.
The boundary-drawing pattern
It sits near, but is distinct from, the sectoral carve-outs in Article 2, such as those for medical devices and motor-vehicle type-approved products F-010: those take products out of this Regulation, while Article 68 edits a neighbouring regime. For most software and hardware makers this article is a curiosity; for vehicle-adjacent product teams it is a pointer to check which regime owns which requirement.
